Article Withdrawal Policy

The Journal of Molecular Science is committed to upholding the highest ethical standards in academic publishing. We understand that, under certain circumstances, authors may need to withdraw their submitted or published articles. However, to maintain the integrity of the scientific record, article withdrawal requests must follow a structured and transparent process.

    1. Withdrawal Before Peer Review
  • Authors may request to withdraw their manuscript before it enters the peer review process.
  • The request must be made by the corresponding author through an official email, clearly stating the reason for withdrawal.
  • The editorial team will confirm the withdrawal request and remove the manuscript from the submission system.
    2. Withdrawal During Peer Review
  • If an article is under active peer review, withdrawal requests will be considered only under valid reasons, such as accidental duplicate submission, errors in data, or unforeseen ethical concerns.
  • The corresponding author must submit a formal request, which will be reviewed by the editorial board.
  • If the request is approved, the manuscript will be withdrawn, and the authors will receive a confirmation email.
    3. Withdrawal After Acceptance But Before Publication
  • If an article has been accepted for publication, withdrawal is discouraged, as it affects the integrity of the editorial process.
  • Authors requesting withdrawal at this stage must provide a compelling reason for doing so.
  • If the request is approved, a formal withdrawal statement will be documented in the journal’s records.
  • A withdrawal penalty will apply, especially if the article has already undergone extensive editorial and production work.
  • Authors should note that No Refund will be provided once the article is accepted and is ready for publication.
    4. Withdrawal of Published Articles
  • Once an article is published, withdrawal is only permitted in exceptional cases, such as:
    • Serious ethical violations (plagiarism, data falsification, or copyright infringement).
    • Legal issues or breaches of confidentiality.
    • Proven errors that compromise the validity of the research.
  • If an article is withdrawn after publication, the journal will issue a formal notice of withdrawal, clearly stating the reasons.
  • The original article may still be accessible with a “Withdrawn” label for transparency, unless legal obligations require full removal.
  • Authors should note that No Refund will be provided once the article is published.
    5. Unethical Withdrawal Requests
  • Withdrawal requests made without justifiable reasons, particularly after acceptance, may lead to blacklisting of the authors from future submissions.
  • If the authors fail to respond to reviewer/editorial queries and later request withdrawal without a valid reason, it may be treated as academic misconduct.
